“Cheap, cheerful getaway”

Marcus from Burnley on Jan 16, 2019

We spotted the Altinkaya Holiday Resort on the gonorthcyprus website and thought it was a nice looking hotel with attractive pool area. We booked in and on arrival were impressed by how appealing the hotel looks. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. Our room was functional and clean but could benefit from a touch up to freshen the look. We slept well in the bed. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found the morning meal sufficiently set us up for each day, we didn't eat in for lunch or tea so can't comment on those meals. There's a diner down the road that seemed popular and plenty of great places to eat in Kyrenia, the hotel runs a convenient shuttle into town a few times a day. All in all a good value, no frills getaway.

“Our third visit to the Altinkaya, good as ever”

Barbara and Thomas from Barrow on Sep 27, 2018

My husband and I have visited the Altinkaya three times now with GoNorthCyprus. Gary looks after us very well and arranges our transfers to and from the hotel, which is very helpful. We've made some friends at the hotel, other older couples like us who we see there regularly. The hotel has a homely feel and staff all work very hard to keep the guests happy, which we are! We stayed in a very nice bungalow and enjoyed the pool, there are always some sunbeds free and the atmosphere is relaxed. It's easy enough to take the hotel shuttle into town for sightseeing although it is possible to walk, not sure our old legs would manage it though so we always take the bus. Good breakfast in the morning and other meals were also much enjoyed. We hope to return for our fourth visit next year!

“Another wonderful break at the Altinkaya”

Cherie and Paul from Hampshire on Feb 21, 2018

Just returned from our second stay at the Altinkaya, booked both times through gonorthcyprus. It is fast becoming our favourite place for an out of season break, the staff are so welcoming and we always have a wonderful time. The rooms are spacious and clean and the hotel grounds are well kept. We really enjoyed feeling cosy by the open fire in the lounge and the food at breakfast was fresh and filling. In fact we stayed for lunch and dinner on several days and were impressed not only by the standard of cooking but also by the brilliant variety of meals on offer. The pool area is pleasant and there's also a library if the weather is a bit chilly. The towels in our room were changed regularly and the shower was hot and efficient - a bonus! We love the Altinkaya.

“Great price, great holiday”

Sara Thomson from Liverpool on Dec 28, 2017

We had a lovely break at the Altinkaya late on in the year and would like to thank gonorthcyprus for getting us such a good deal. We'd never been to this part of Cyprus before and wanted a cheap getaway before the madness of Christmas, luckily we found the hotel when browsing the gonorthcyprus website and the price was great. We had a clean, comfortable apartment that was cleaned daily, very cosy and private. The staff were friendly and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The barman was the best of the lot, he was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. You can ask for bacon at breakfast if you want it - it's not freely provided, and the hotel runs a shuttle bus into town so it's easy to get about. We had a wonderfully relaxing time!

“Clean, tidy and pleasant staff”

Rhiannon from Merseyside on Oct 12, 2017

We booked a last minute trip to north Cyprus with, and chose the Altinkaya because it seemed to be a good mid-range hotel. We weren't disappointed, the hotel was very nice and clean, a little dated in parts but for the price we paid we're not complaining! The staff were all very pleasant and friendly and we found our room very comfortable. Luckily we were facing the mountains rather than the road and the bed was lovely and soft, we slept really well. Breakfast was simple but plentiful and although we didn't eat at the hotel for the rest of our meals, we did have a few drinks and were impressed by the cocktail menu. Nice pool area with lots of sunbeds available and the hotel runs a shuttle bus service into town, which is very handy. A great stay for the price paid, excellent...

“Relaxing break”

Peter from Birmingham on Jun 27, 2017

Our third visit to the hotel , the location is ideal for us , Gary at Go North Cyprus found a great deal for us with flights to Larnaca , taxi to the Hotel slightly longer but the flight was direct, so no changing planes in Turkey. The bungalows are fairly basic but clean and comfortable, we stayed in the annex so had strong WiFi signal and a well stocked bar close to hand, the only downside being that we had to cross the road for breakfast.

“Excellent value and wonderful staff”

Phil Garnett from Sussex on May 3, 2017

This was our third trip to north Cyprus, we decided on a trip last minute and got a good deal through gonorthcyprus. We were happy to book a budget break and the Altinkaya had good reviews. Accommodation is basic and could do with some TLC but it was clean and comfortable and the staff were faultless, so friendly and welcoming. We had a bungalow as we wanted to avoid any noise and also the stairs - my wife is a bit unsteady on her feet. We found the bungalow to be quiet and in a nice spot by the pool. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet but can't comment on other meals as we ate out, there are some good restaurants nearby. Also only about five mins away from the supermarket and easy to get into Kyrenia via the regular bus service the hotel runs. We found the experience very pleasant and would...
