Dome Hotel

Centre Kyrenia

A ‘grande dame’ of Cyprus hotels, remembered with nostalgia by the many hundreds of British guests who have stayed here down the years. The Dome has a stately 70 years of history, and has long been the focal point of social life in Kyrenia. Right in the heart of town, it has nevertheless retained an atmosphere of colonial charm and quiet elegance, yet it has thoroughly up to date amenities. Appealing to a more mature, discerning clientele, poised on the very edge of the Mediterranean beside the picturesque harbour, there is much to enjoy, in a style and ambience which is rare in seaside holiday hotels these days.

“Excellent value as always”

Carol and Dave from Great Addington on Oct 30, 2017

We've stayed at the Dome a couple of times with, it's in a great position and has a lot going for it. This time was no different from the last few occasions - our room was very clean and comfortable with a great sea view, the staff made us feel welcome (as always) and the food is always fantastic at the Anchor restaurant. The hotel has a traditional feel - perhaps it could benefit from a bit of a facelift but don't let that put you off, it's mainly the bathrooms that could benefit from a bit of an update - everything else about the hotel is great. The location is ideal - the sea is right outside and it's well placed to access the harbour and other sights of interest in just a few minutes. We always feel we get maximum value on a stay here and will return again.

“Fantastic food and setting”

Simon and Katy from Renfrewshire on May 17, 2017

We spent a long time deliberating about where to stay before choosing Dome Hotel on the GoNorthCyprus site. We're so glad we did, the setting is superb and the food is outstanding! We read that the hotel had been around for a really long time and that was a benefit in our opinion, so we decided to trust the longstanding reputation and history and don't regret it a bit! Our room was comfortable with a balcony so we could see the beautiful sea below - stunning. Also very quiet up on the third floor. The buffets were delicious, especially the Meze, with tons of choice and the staff were completely hospitable and made us feel valued throughout our entire stay. Only about five mins walk to Kyrenia castle and the town, so a brilliant location. The hotel is a little tired looking but we wouldn't...

“Dome Hotel”

Pat and Megan from Paphos on Nov 24, 2016

We'd heard mixed reviews about the hotel but Gary at Go North Cyprus reassured us that we'd picked the right hotel , It is right on the seafront , we chose a room with Sea view and glad that we did.Being in the centre we didn't have far to walk and found ourselves returning to the same bar in the Old harbour each evening , the people in North Cyprus are very friendly and welcoming, never felt anything but relaxed there , would love to return in the summer months .

“The Dome Hotel”

Sara and Michael from London on Oct 21, 2016

This was a last minute holiday and for the price we done well, I booked online with Go North and the confirmation email arrived less than 12 Hours later, at stansted we simply handed in our passports and they gave us the boarding cards , although there was a touchdown in Turkey we didn't have to change airplanes ( Like we have had to in the past with Turkish Airlines). We normally stay at a friends Villa in the back end of beyond, so it was handy to be in the centre of town , The Dome Itself is an older style of Hotel but the service was top notch , the room comfortable and clean and right opposite is our favourite Restaurant there, Niazi's , the old harbour about 5 minutes walk away and the Dolmus ( Bus stop ) about 10 minutes away.We were lucky with the weather and will return .

“Graciously tired”

Geoff HIl from Cyprus on Jun 25, 2016

As always, it depends on what you're looking for ... The Dome is an old colonial style building, with rather tired dcor, but in a great location for the pretty harbour and the shopping area of Kyrenia. The Hotel is clean, with good food. Our large room was serviced daily. Dome has lovely helpful staff, and a multi-lingual front desk. Our beds were very comfortable, but the pillows were another story! They were VERY hard and unforgiving. The two somewhat lacking elements are the tired dcor - a team of high quality decorators wouldn't go amiss, and the haphazard area called the parking lot.As North Cyprus hotels go, this was good value for money, and I'd be OK with staying there again on another visit.

“Amazing external area, beautiful location”

Kathleen from Wigan on May 13, 2016

We were impressed by pictures of the Dome Hotel during the booking process on the website, so we knew we were in for a treat when we arrived. The hotel occupies an excellent location, with the sea right on its doorstep. We checked in and unpacked in our large and comfortable but somewhat old-fashioned room and headed outside straightaway, keen to explore the hotel's external area. Fantastic views, three swimming pools and plenty of sun beds with towels, well, we stayed outside for hours! The hotel restaurant offered plenty of choice at remarkable prices but there's also a wonderful fish restaurant nearby called Lagoon for when you feel like a change. The harbour is a few minutes away, so it's easy to explore at your leisure, which we did when we could tear ourselves away...

“The Dome Hotel in Northern Cyprus”

Mark and Alice from Bristol on Mar 10, 2016

When discussing a hotel, particularly those in the Mediterranean, age isn't often considered to be a selling point. In the case of the Dome Hotel in Kyrenia, however, it becomes a very important characteristic: when it was built around 70 years ago, the hotel secured for itself one of the finest pieces of real estate I've ever visited. When I booked up with Gary at Go North Cyprus in November (look them up, they were a great help) I had already seen pictures of the place, surrounded as it is on three sides by the sea itself, which were impressive enough. Seeing a picture and actually being there in the flesh are rather different things though. The front of The Dome looks out onto a fairly nice, but average Cypriot town street. It enjoys close proximity to the sea front and Kyrenia Castle, obviously,...
